Client / Brief
The Strategic Economic Development Corporation, or SEDCOR, builds and strengthens positive and productive partnerships with industry leaders, nonprofits, business advocacy groups, community organizations, commodity boards, state and federal agencies, local governments, and more.
They commissioned me to create wine labels for use as member and client gifts as well as organize the layout of a joint case study between Missing Middle Housing Fund, another client of mine, and the Newberg Workforce Housing Consortium.
Wine Label Project
Process - Estate Rosé
The connect-the-dots activity on the rose was hard to number because there were so many lines against a complex background. My solution was to place lines where numbers would have been lost and break up the windmill into quadrants so that the numbering of each quadrant as well as the windmill as a whole followed a clockwise path.
Pinot Gris
The amount of text on the gris was a frequent obstacle as I was crafting the landscape behind it. I ended up putting the activity in a colored box and shifting the river and flora to the right so that the background would not interfere with the word search copy.
Pinot Noir
The background of the noir took a lot of adjusting to look just right. The clouds and flowers needed to alternate their colors and rotations in both random yet aesthetically pleasing ways that brought balance and harmony to the composition.
Final Labels
I am very happy with how these wine labels turned out. Each label has a distinct look with a main color, scene, and activity but still incorporates the colors of the others in order to tie the trio together. Each label also came with its unique problems to solve.
Case Study Project
Mockup
A collaborative case study between the Missing Middle Housing Fund, who is another client, the Newberg Workforce Housing Consortium, and SEDCOR. I’m proud of how professional and sleek the final document looks. The large amount of copy took a lot of work to lay out neatly.
